The West Virginia Freedom of Information Act (WVFOIA) can be found in Chapter 29B Article 1 of the West Virginia Code of Laws, created to allow public access to government records while protecting confidentiality, public safety and government function. The law applies to all state, county and municipal governing bodies, agencies and any authorized agents/ organizations working in conjunction with or on behalf of West Virginia, unless it is specifically outlined otherwise.
